1. BTech. Marine Engineering

2.Graduate in Marine Engineering ( GME After completion of BTech. Mechanical Engg  )

3.ETO Course after completion of BTech.Electrical Engg.

Career Path for a Btech Marine engg graduate.

1.BTech. Marine Engineering

BTech. Marine Engineering  is a 4 year Pre Sea course approved by the DG shipping Of India. It consists of 8 semesters and is a engineering degree program for merchant marine engine side aspirants.During the 4 year period cadets will learn about all the machinery onboard a vessel like Boiler,Main Engine,Auxiliary Engine,Hydraulic systems, different types of pumps etc and MARPOL in detail.

The first year courses introduce the engineering sciences and the second year courses build on this knowledge base, examining the application of these sciences in a marine engineering context. The third year courses cover essential marine machinery together with advanced theoretical inputs relevant to marine engineering. In the final year, the focus is on ship operations and specialised marine machinery.

For a BTech ME graduate 6 months sea time is required to be eligible for MEO CLASS 4 EXAM(for promotion to 4th Engg & 3rd Engg ).

The eligibility for joining BTech ME course is 60% in PCM (12TH ) , 50% in English Atleast in 10th or 12th and passing the Medical requirements ( ,no color blindness ) etc .The maximum age for the course is 25 years.

Some companies sponsor GME cadets before even course starts .A sponsorship means that a company will take you a cadet upon successful completion of course and good behaviour record . It doesn't mean that the company is going to pay for your course, but simply a guarantee that the company will give you a job after GME course and you'll be paid a stipend during your 8 months cadetship.
While some companies sponsor cadets , some companies recruit cadets during the GME course .

The eligibility for the course is  Graduation in BE (Mechanical) Engineering / Naval Architecture with minimum marks of 50% in final year and with minimum 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam and passing the medical test (color blindness, eye test etc ).The maximum age limit for this course is 28 years .
